Clinton, Democrats Run the Airwaves in Swing States

Trump and GOP groups have yet to book airtime.

The only 2016 ads on the air­waves in battle­ground states are from the cam­paign of former Sec­ret­ary of State Hil­lary Clin­ton (D) or Demo­crat­ic out­side groups. “The op­pos­i­tion, by con­trast, hasn’t spent a dime in these same battle­grounds — wheth­er it’s Don­ald Trump’s cam­paign or Re­pub­lic­an-lean­ing Su­per PACs.”

“So far in June, Clin­ton and the out­side groups back­ing her have spent a total of $23.3 mil­lion on ads in the battle­ground states of Col­or­ado, Flor­ida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hamp­shire, North Car­o­lina, Ohio and Vir­gin­ia.”

“By com­par­is­on, in June of 2012, Pres­id­ent Barack Obama and the out­side groups sup­port­ing him had spent $45 mil­lion in ads in 11 battle­ground states, while Mitt Rom­ney and his al­lies — like Cross­roads GPS and Amer­ic­ans for Prosper­ity — spent $38 mil­lion” (NBC News)
