George W. Bush Appears in Super PAC Ad

Bush’s mother hit the campaign trail.

Right to Rise, the su­per PAC back­ing former Flor­ida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), will be­gin air­ing a TV ad in South Car­o­lina today fea­tur­ing George W. Bush. “The first job of the pres­id­ent is to pro­tect Amer­ica. The next pres­id­ent must be pre­pared to lead. I know Jeb. I know his good heart and his strong back­bone,” Bush 43 says dir­ectly in­to the cam­era. The former pres­id­ent is also ex­pec­ted to hit the cam­paign trail ahead of the state’s Feb. 20 primary. Mean­while, Bar­bara Bush in­tro­duced her son at a New Hamp­shire town hall on Thursday, call­ing him “the world’s nicest man.” While tak­ing the stage, Bush quipped: “Mom, my crowd sizes aren’t nor­mally this large. I won­der why.” (CNN)

WATCH YOUR LAN­GUAGE. Bush de­scribed real es­tate mogul Don­ald Trump’s (R) use of pro­fan­ity as “dis­gust­ing” in an in­ter­view Wed­nes­day, say­ing, “I think it’s a sign of deep in­sec­ur­ity when he uses pro­fan­ity. I mean, there are chil­dren watch­ing this stuff.” He also con­tin­ued to com­pare Sen. Marco Ru­bio (R-FL) to Pres­id­ent Obama, say­ing the sen­at­or “can’t claim that he has any re­cord to do any­thing.” (BuzzFeed)
