Alex Sink (D), who lost to Rep. David Jolly (R) in the March special election, endorsed Marine Corps veteran Ed Jany (I) to challenge Jolly in November. “I urge every Pinellas resident who is fed up with the gridlock in Washington to join me in supporting the Colonel, so we can send a Marine to clean up Congress,” she wrote in an email to supporters.
Jany is running as an independent even though he is a registered Democrat because of a state law that requires candidates to be registered with a party for a year before running on their ticket. Jany was a Republican until he switched parties “several months” ago. (SaintPetersBlog)
