Rep. John Conyers (D) did not qualify for his primary ballot, Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett announced. Only 592 of his 2,000 signatures were deemed valid after his petitions were challenged and it was revealed that two of his signature gatherers were not registered voters. He needed at least 1,000 valid signatures. The campaign is likely to follow through with a legal challenge, and Conyers can continue with a write-in campaign. (The Hill)
