National Republicans have launched a new “jumbo-joint fundraising committee” called “Young Gun Day I 2014” allowing donors to contribute up to $84,400 in total, benefiting the National Republican Congressional Committee and Republican House candidates in 10 districts. “Jumbo joints” were spawned by the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in McCutcheon v. FEC.
The committee will benefit Illinois state Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL 12), Virginia state Del. Barbara Comstock (R-VA 10), Chester County, Penn., Commissioner Ryan Costello (R-PA 06), Miami-Dade County, Fla., School Board member Carlos Curbelo (R-FL 26), former Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL 10), West Virginia state Sen. Evan Jenkins (R-WV 03), retired Air Force pilot Martha McSally (R-AZ 02), businessman Stewart Mills (R-MN 08), former Massachusetts state Sen. Richard Tisei (R-MA 06), and Minnesota state Sen. Torrey Westrom (R-MN 07). It could expand to include more candidates in the future. (Center for Public Integrity)
