Dish Network subscribers will soon be able to pay their bills in bitcoin, the company announced Thursday, making the satellite TV provider the largest company to accept the virtual currency.

As of July 1, customers will be able to use bitcoin’s Coinbase online wallet to pay their bills. Dish will use the wallet’s Instant Exchange feature to immediately convert the payment to U.S. currency.

“We always want to deliver choice and convenience for our customers, and that includes the method they use to pay their bills,” said Dish COO Bernie Han. “Bitcoin is becoming a preferred way for some people to transact, and we want to accommodate those individuals.”

Dish Network’s profit fell in the first quarter of 2014, and it has seen rival DirecTV agree to a merger with telecom giant AT&T.

Coinbase says it hosts more than 1 million consumer wallets, as well as 31,000 merchants.
