Pope Fran­cis is set­ting new lim­its on fin­an­cing the pro­cess of saint­hood. Now the rich won’t be the only ones to lay claim to holi­ness.

Plus, a 17,000-word New York­er pro­file on the pres­id­ent re­veals Obama’s opin­ion about the dangers of marijuana — namely, that the drug isn’t any more dan­ger­ous than al­co­hol. 

And in this week’s in­tel­li­gence news: Obama is re­ly­ing on Con­gress to pass re­forms to the Na­tion­al Se­cur­ity Agency’s ex­pans­ive sur­veil­lance pro­grams. Jon Stew­art is, at best, su­premely skep­tic­al.
