Jay Car­ney doesn’t have all the an­swers.

At least that’s what he told re­port­ers, over and over again, dur­ing his three years as White House press sec­ret­ary. He won’t be dodging ques­tions for too much longer though. Pres­id­ent Obama an­nounced Fri­day that Car­ney will be leav­ing his post in Ju­ly.

Josh Earn­est, who will take over the po­di­um, said that he has learned “so much” from the de­part­ing press sec­ret­ary. That prob­ably in­cludes the art of dir­ect­ing re­port­ers’ ques­tions else­where. Here are some of Car­ney’s clas­sic mo­ments of that man­euver.
