‘02 nom­in­ee Kat­rina Swett (D) is likely to run for the open seat. Swett, in an in­ter­view with The Hot­line while in DC today: “I’m mov­ing pretty strongly in that dir­ec­tion. Very, very strongly.”

On why she has not been more act­ive: “To some de­gree, my pro­fes­sion­al re­spons­ib­il­it­ies with the Lan­tos Found­a­tion have crowded out a little bit of time I might oth­er­wise have been fo­cused on cam­paign stuff. … I’m pretty gung-ho about turn­ing my at­ten­tion to oth­er mat­ters.”

Swett is likely to an­nounce her plans after 1/1. She has $870K in the bank after her brief ‘08 SEN bid (Hot­line re­port­ing, 12/3).

MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) is host­ing a 12/16 event for NH state Sen­ate GOP­ers next month, and ex-Rep. Jeb Brad­ley (R) is on the host cmte (Toep­litz, “Eye on 2010,” CQ, 11/30).

Mean­while, state Rep. John De­Joie (D) of­fi­cially an­nounced his bid 12/1 (Schoen­berg, Con­cord Mon­it­or, 12/1).
