The Republican primary race for Rep. Tom Petri’s (R) seat is a toss-up among state Sen. Glenn Grothman (R), state Sen. Joe Leibham (R), and state Rep. Duey Stroebel (R), all of whom have tried to brand themselves as the most conservative. Leibham’s legislative district makes up a large portion of the congressional district, but Grothman seems to be the center of attention in debates and has a reputation as an aggressive conservative. The winner of the Republican primary race will likely beat Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris (D) in the general election. (Roll Call)
