Lil Jon Is Flying From Los Angeles to Atlanta to Vote Because He Didn’t Get His Absentee Ballot

The face of Rock the Vote experienced some difficulties in, well, rocking the vote.

Update, 3:21 p.m.—Lil Jon made it. “JUST GOT DONE VOTING,” he wrote in a new Instagram post.

This morning, however, the rapper seemed pretty agitated while he waited for a flight at Los Angeles International Airport.

“6AM FLIGHT TO ATL TO VOTE BECAUSE GA NEVA SENT MY BALLOT AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS!!!” he wrote in a post on Instagram. “U CANT DISCOURAGE ME! #VOTETODAY@TURNOUTFORWHAT #ROCKTHEVOTE”

Lil Jon, who appears to be registered to vote in Georgia, claims he did not receive an absentee ballot at his Los Angeles home. Polls close at 7 p.m. in Georgia.

It would look pretty bad if he didn’t vote on Election Day. Lil Jon is the latest spokesperson for Rock the Vote, the youth-engagement organization. Last month, the group released a music video featuring the rapper at a polling place surrounded by other celebrities dancing to “Turn Out for What,” a get-out-the-vote remix of his hit song “Turn Down for What.”

It sounds like Lil Jon is making a late discovery about his absentee ballot. But unlike most voters in the country, he can afford the last-minute flight to his polling place.
