State Sen. Isadore Hall III (D) released the first TV ad of the race for retiring Rep. Janice Hahn’s (D) seat, airing a biographical spot that details his background.

“When I was 8, I was told I wouldn’t amount to anything. People said worse about where I grew up,” Hall says, as the camera shows a street sign for Compton Boulevard. “I wanted to prove them wrong. My mother showed me how. She worked three jobs to support six kids, and we beat the odds, thanks to her.” Hall then touts his work as a “reserve sheriff, school board president, and city councilman.” (release)

Hermosa Beach City Councilwoman Nanette Barragan (D) said she is considering entering the race for Hahn’s seat, even though Hahn has already endorsed Hall. (Easy Reader News)
