First GOP Presidential Debate Planned for August

A handful of GOP hopefuls will attend a RedState gathering.

The first Republican presidential debate is on track to occur Aug. 6 in Cleveland. It's still unclear who will be eligible to participate. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

Conservative blogger Erick Erickson announced that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R), former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) will all speak at the RedState Gathering, which takes place in Atlanta from August 6-9. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), former Arkanas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) were also invited. (RedState)
