The Virginia legislature’s two-week special session to redraw congressional district lines begins next week. State Sen. John Chapman Petersen (D) said he views the session as a way of showing Republicans and Democrats can reach a compromise, even though Republicans are appealing the ruling that required redistricting and would prefer to keep the lines as they are.
