For 9/11-Responder Advocates, Drama in Spending Deal's Final Days

Advocates of the Zadroga Act hope the spending package will include support for responders.

John McNamara, who served in the New York Fire Department, worked at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 attacks and died in 2009 of cancer. The Act, which funds medical care for 9/11 first-responders, is set to expire and was not included in the transportation bill that passed the Senate earlier this week.
