“[T]echnology firms need to do more to work with the government to fight Islamic State online,” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D) “said Sunday, warning that the San Bernardino attack shows that tech firms and intelligence agencies are failing to do enough to stop the militant group’s viral recruitment efforts. … Clinton emphasized the alarming success the Islamic State group has had in luring recruits and planning attacks through social media and encrypted online channels, saying that combating the militants online has to become a higher priority.” (Los Angeles Times)

Asked Sunday if the United States is winning the fight against ISIS, Clinton answered, “We’re not winning, but it’s too soon to say that we are doing everything we need to do.” (ABC)

ON THE AIR. Clinton released a new ad focused on prescription drug costs that will air in New Hampshire and Iowa. The 30-second spot is part of campaign’s ongoing buy in those states. (release)

MAKING THE CASE. Clinton wrote an op-ed headlined “How I’d Rein in Wall Street” focused on her plan to curb major financial institutions. She wrote, “As president, I would not only veto any legislation that would weaken financial reform, but I would also fight for tough new rules, stronger enforcement and more accountability that go well beyond Dodd-Frank.” (New York Times)

SOUTHERN SUPPORT. Clinton secured endorsements from Democratic members of South Carolina’s General Assembly, including state Rep. Justin Bamberg (D), state Rep. James Smith (D), and state Sen. John Matthews (D). (CNN)

ON THE TRAIL. On Wednesday, Clinton will hold a fundraiser in Des Moines, her first one in Iowa. (CNN)

She’ll tout her economic proposal in St. Louis on Friday. Last week, Clinton announced her $275 billion, five-year plan focused on bolstering transportation in the U.S. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

Meanwhile, Rep. Joe Kennedy (D-MA 04) campaigned for Clinton in New Hampshire over the weekend. (Springfield Republican)

MONEY CHASE. Two of Clinton’s most high-profile finance supporters, Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s Warren Buffett and Blackstone Group LP’s Tony James, will appear at a fundraiser this month in New York City, where attendees will contribute $33,400 to the Hillary Victory Fund.
