TV Ads Target Republicans Over Medicare Reform Efforts
Monday, April 25, 2011 | 12:16 p.m.
Americans United for Change, a progressive issue-advocacy group, is airing television ads this week in the districts of Republican Congressmen Paul Ryan and Sean Duffy of Wisconsin, Chip Cravaack of Minnesota and Steve King of Iowa. The ads criticize Ryan's plans to make changes to Medicare and Medicaid. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is also ramping up against Republicans' plan to alter seniors' medical services. In a web video released today, the DCCC calls GOP members liars for vowing to protect Medicare, and then backing Ryan's plan, which it perceives as a threat to seniors' care.
