ABC/Univision's Fusion and National Journal's "Next America" Project Announce Editorial Partnership
WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 30 – National Journal's "Next America" project and Fusion are teaming up to jointly produce political, economic and cultural news for a more ethnically diverse America. The partnership was announced today by Fusion CEO Isaac Lee and Ronald Brownstein, editorial director of Atlantic Media, National Journal's parent company. Fusion, which launched on Monday, is the new TV and digital network from ABC and Univision.
"America is undergoing the most profound demographic change since the turn of the 20th century. Just look at the impact it's had on politics," said Ronald Brownstein. "Through 'Next America,' our goal is to show how this wave is also transforming classrooms, workplaces and communities around the country. We are honored to partner in that effort with Fusion, a uniquely innovative effort to explore and understand how the rapidly growing Hispanic community is reshaping and reimagining American life."
"A deep understanding of the changing face of the U.S. is what propelled two giants—ABC and Univision—to create this groundbreaking TV and digital network. Every day, Fusion aims to champion a young, diverse America," said Isaac Lee, CEO of Fusion. "Ron and the National Journal team are true thought leaders on this subject and understand how two of the largest demographic waves since the baby boom—millennials and Hispanics—are impacting so many sectors of society today, including politics."
With minorities projected to reach majority status of the overall population by the early 2040s, and majority status in the under-18 population within this decade, both Fusion and "Next America" are focused on exploring and reporting on the dramatic effects of this demographic revolution as it reconfigures the face of America.
National Journal brings to the table its coverage of education, the economy, politics, immigration, and other domestic policy issues, as well as an extensive editorial and opinion section that features fresh and diverse voices from the changing American demographic.
