The Shooting Suspect at Arapahoe High School in Colorado Is Dead

The suspect in the shooting at the Centennial County school shot himself after injuring at least one other student.

A suspect is dead in a shooting at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo., according to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson. The suspect, who was a student at the school, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two other students were wounded in the incident, one from a gunshot wound.

The sheriff, speaking to media, said that the student injured in the gunfire is in serious condition. The shooting began at about 12:30 p.m., local time.

 

Arapahoe High School is a large school with 70 classrooms and 2,229 students. The school is about eight miles away from Columbine High School. This comes just one day before the one-year anniversary of the shooting in Newtown.
