If you’ve tuned into cable news in the past two days, you know at least two things. First, there’s a winter storm in the midst of peak travel days for Thanksgiving. And second, if you are traveling, prepare for the worst.
The perspective from space placates these small troubles. Yes, a great deal of America’s 43 million holiday travelers will be frustrated Wednesday. But like this serene photo of Typhoon Haiyan about to slam into the Phillipines, the photo above, taken by NASA, has a calm sense of order to it. The image was captured Sunday, but the storm system continues to hang over the United States this week.
Take a deep breath and remember: Weather goes on, Thankgiving or not.
