According to a new Public Policy Polling (D) (IVR) poll (Aug. 16-19; 721 RVs; +/- 3.7%), Gov. Bobby Jindal’s (R) approval rating is only 28%, while 59% of voters disapprove of his job performance. (release)

The poll represents a steep decline for Jindal, but Pelican State polling is all over the map. Roughly contemporaneous surveys from Jindal’s pollster, OnMessage Inc. (R), and GOP robopollster Harper Polling (R) (IVR) paint slightly better pictures for Jindal. Still, it’s clear that Jindal’s star has fallen significantly.
