Attorneys for Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval (D) asked the Ohio Supreme Court on Monday to drop their request to delay an Ohio Elections Commission hearing on the Democrat's potential campaign finance violations. The court granted the request.

"Pureval's attorneys filed another motion with the Ohio Elections Commission, saying Pureval and his campaign manager were too busy to attend Thursday's hearing. That request is still pending."

The attorneys, in their request: We "do not desire to advance this particular legal action at this time." (Cincinnati Enquirer)

Pureval is challenging Rep. Steve Chabot (R).
