Gov. Kate Brown’s (D) campaign claimed in a Monday press release that “Oregonians for Immigration Reform (OFIR), the most prominent anti-immigrant hate group in Oregon, endorsed Republican [state Rep.] Knute Buehler on Thursday."

However, when asked about the endorsement, OFIR president Cynthia Kendoll called the Brown campaign’s claim “not true” and said that the group has no plans to endorse.

Buehler campaign: “Knute has neither sought nor would he accept the endorsement of this organization. Unfortunately Gov. Brown has a history of lies and smears about Knute's record.” (Willamette Week)
