Brown begins with big lead on Renacci

A Quinnipiac poll of Ohio voters shows Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown leading his Republican opponent, Rep. Jim Renacci, 51-34 percent; Brown gets 55 percent job approval, with 26 percent disapproving. In the governor race, Democrat Richard Cordray is ahead of Republican state Attorney General Mike DeWine 42-40 percent.

McMaster launches ad, will debate Warren

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has made a six-figure ad buy, the first of his two-week runoff campaign against fellow Republican and businessman John Warren. The ad touts the state’s economy and the governor’s antiabortion stances, and it features a clip of President Trump complimenting him. McMaster also announced Wednesday that he will take part in a June 20 debate against Warren.

Pence to attend fundraiser with Wagner

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Vice President Mike Pence will attend a Republican Governors Association fundraiser Tuesday in Philadelphia along with Pennsylvania GOP governor nominee Scott Wagner. Tickets will cost up to $50,000.
