Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D) led former Gov. Lincoln Chafee (D) 72-14 percent in an Anzalone Liszt Grove poll (May 7-14; Democratic LVs; +/-5.5%) commissioned for Whitehouse’s campaign.

Whitehouse’s favorability was 79-10 percent compared to Chafee’s 32-46 percent.

“Whitehouse’s campaign manager, Joe Caiazzo, declined to release the full poll commissioned by the senator’s campaign.”

“Chafee … is conducting his own poll, and that the results (expected in a few weeks) will determine whether he moves ahead with a primary challenge against Whitehouse.” (RIPR)
