Bryant Announces Support for Wicker

McDaniel made his first campaign stop in Biloxi.

Gov. Phil Bryant (R) announced his support for Sen. Roger Wicker (R), saying he “has been instrumental in cutting taxes, eliminating burdensome regulations, creating jobs and strengthening our border.” (Twitter)

FIRST THINGS FIRST. State Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) made his first official campaign stop in Biloxi. McDaniel, in a speech: “It’s time to fight. If you want a fighter, you’ve got one right here. We’re not going to go up there and compromise with Mitch McConnell. We’re going to do the right thing and drain the swamp.” (WLOX-TV)

NEW ADDITION. Howard Sherman, the husband of actress Sela Ward, announced his bid for the Senate. Sherman, a businessman, is new to politics. (Jackson Clarion Ledger)

MONEY MONEY MONEY. Remember Mississippi, a super PAC supporting McDaniel, said Friday it is “investing over $250,000 in radio ads and online advertisements as well as road and yard signage” to boost McDaniel. More than $100,000 of that buy will go toward radio and digital ads. (release)
