State Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi (D) picked up an endorsement from the New York State AFL-CIO, “which represents around 2.5 million union members, retirees and their families.” Mario Cilento, president of the state chapter, said the union needs someone in Washington to “protect our health care, create more jobs, fight for fair wages and make workplace safety a priority, which his opponent has failed to do.”

Brindisi welcomed the endorsement: “I will continue to fight for fair tax policies and protections in the workplace—much as the New York State AFL-CIO has done for many years.” (Utica Observer-Dispatch)

Brindisi is challenging Rep. Claudia Tenney (R). President Trump carried the district with 54 percent.
