The Remember Mississippi super PAC, which backs state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R), reported $1 million in contributions in its year-end fundraising report, ending the year with $852,000 in the bank. (release)

The group’s haul was “fueled by big donations from hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer and Richard Uihlein. … Uihlein donated another $250,000 this month to the pro-McDaniel group, and the super PAC is ‘confident of further support’ from other conservative donors if McDaniel enters the Senate race, the group’s treasurer Tommy Barnett, said.” (USA Today)

McDaniel has been weighing a challenge to Sen. Roger Wicker (R) for months.
