Dems Up 8 Points in Greenberg Research Generic Ballot

Democrats have an 8-point lead, 48 percent to 40 percent, in a generic ballot poll (Jan. 6-11; 729 LVs) conducted by the Greenberg Research and Democracy Corps. That advantage increases to 11 points, 49 percent to 38 percent, among registered voters in the survey (Jan. 6-11; 1,000 RVs). And independent voters backed Democrats 38 to 33 percent, among registered voters. (release)

"President Donald Trump directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, according to two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter. Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations.
