The Club for Growth’s political arm endorsed state Rep. Rick Saccone (R) in the special election to replace former Rep. Tim Murphy (R).

“Rick is a constitutional conservative who supports lower taxes, repealing Obamacare, and limiting the size of government,” the group’s president David McIntosh said in a statement. (release)

Saccone was chosen by party insiders to the GOP nominee in the race to fill Murphy’s seat after he resigned earlier this year. He will face former Assistant U.S. Attorney Conor Lamb (D) in the March 13 special election in southwestern Pennsylvania.
