Teacher’s union chief Bob Walsh (D) said he is “thinking about” running for governor and hinted it could be as an independent. He noted former Gov. Lincoln Chafee (D) won as an independent in 2010 and criticized Gov. Gina Raimondo’s (D) “leadership.”

Walsh: “The parties on both sides have become problematic. … I think it’s wide open.” (WSBE)
