Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens (R) “has filed to run. … She’s the first woman to announce a bid for the GOP nomination in a field of a dozen Republican candidates.” (Twin Cities Pioneer Press)

Stephens will make an “announcement on her political future” Wednesday morning in Woodbury. (release)

“P2B Strategies had registered domains for Stephens that included MaryforGov and MaryforMN, those sites have blank pages this morning suggesting that the site will go live upon her announcement. … P2B principal Gregg Peppin is seen as a major influencer within the state GOP, and counts current party chair Jennifer Carnahan as one of his success. Four years ago he was the main consultant for GOP endorsed candidate and primary winner Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson.” (Morning Take)

HAVING DAUDTS. State House Speaker Kurt Daudt (R) “said he’s undecided on whether to stay in the Minnesota House, move on or run for governorship.”

Daudt: “There’s still an opportunity to get in. … At some point the door or window will close if I haven’t made a decision to run and that’s ok, too.” (MPR)

Daudt had previously said he would decide by early fall.
