The United Steelworkers union backed former state AFL-CIO President Mark MacKenzie’s (D) bid to for retiring Rep. Carol Shea-Porter’s (D) seat. “USW District 4 Director John Shinn credited MacKenzie for serving working families for more than 40 years, as a firefighter and a leader within the labor movement each for 25 years and now in the state legislature.” (release)

MULLING A RUN. “Currently, four Democrats and two Republicans have officially declared their candidacies. Executive Councilor Chris Pappas (D) is eyeing the race and will decide after the Manchester municipal elections.

“WMUR reported Pappas’ name was used in a” DCCC “robocall, polling voters on a hypothetical matchup between Pappas and a Republican challenger, despite him not being a declared candidate. Pappas said he was not made aware DCCC calls would be using his name.” (Foster’s Daily Democrat)
