A super PAC has formed to help boost state Rep. Mike Braun’s (R) candidacy. David Carney, a New Hampshire-based strategist, is running the PAC and “did not immediately respond to the question of how much money the PAC hopes to raise.”
Last cycle, Carney led a super PAC to help now-Rep. Trey Hollingsworth (R) in IN-09.
Meanwhile, Braun “has already contributed $800,000 of his own money to his campaign.” (Indianapolis Star)
TRUMP. Rep. Luke Messer (R-06) talked up his support of President Trump when asked if he or Rep. Todd Rokita (R-04) is more aligned with him.
“The truth is that I occasionally disagree with a tweet or a style point by President Trump, but I support President Trump’s agenda and I’m working hard to turn that agenda into law,” Messer said.
In a nod to the primary’s divisiveness, Messer said of Rokita: “I’ve known him since he was 19. I know how he behaves.” (Lafayette Journal and Courier)
