State Attorney General Bill Schuette (R) led Lt. Gov. Brian Calley (R) 52-13 percent in a Mitchell Research and Communications (R) poll (Sept. 21-24; 400 LVs; +/-5%) conducted for Michigan Information Research Services. Schuette’s lead grew to 68-13% when voters were informed that President Trump endorsed him.
Schuette was also better known, sporting a 65 percent approval rating to Calley’s 26 percent.
Term-limited Gov. Rick Snyder (R) had an 80-16 percent approval rating, and Trump had a 84-13 percent approval. (release)
