Ex-State Dept Official Enters Dem Primary

Former State Department official Tom Malinowski (D), a former assistant secretary of State for Human Rights, entered the Democratic primary to challenge Rep. Leonard Lance (R) on Monday with an endorsements from former Secretary of State John Kerry (D) and 2014 NJ-07 nominee Janice Kovach (D).

Malinowski: “I’ve stood up to dictators on behalf of America; I’ll stand up to Donald Trump and Leonard Lance for the people of our state.” (release)

Hillary Clinton narrowly won Lance’s district last year. Several Democrats are already running, including bank ex­ec­ut­ive Linda Weber, teach­er Lisa Man­del­blatt, and law­yer Scott Sal­mon.
