“The final televised Virginia gubernatorial debate between” Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (R) and former RNC Chair Ed Gillespie (R) “will be held Oct. 9 at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.” (Bristol Herald Courier)

WHAT A $7 MILLION HAUL GIVES YOU. Northam has spent nearly $1.3 million on TV ads so far this month, compared to Gillespie’s $825,000. That’s double what Northam spent in all of August, when Gillesepie had an on-air spending advantage. (Virginia Public Access Project)

SPOTLIGHT. “An attack ad by … Gillespie that warns Virginia residents of the menacing threat of the MS-13 gang features a photograph taken from a Salvadoran news site [El Faro] without permission, and portrays members of a rival gang [Barrio 18] photographed inside a prison in El Salvador, not MS-13 members in Virginia.” (ThinkProgress)

The Gillespie campaign accused the Washington Post of rejecting a letter to the editor from Campaign Chair Pete Snyder refuting a recent editorial. (release)
