A new poll (Sept. 5-12; 1,000 voters; +/- 3.8%) from the University of Mary Washington finds Sen. Tim Kaine (D) leading Prince William County Supervisors Chair Corey Stewart (R) 53-36 percent. In a hypothetical matchup with Rep. Dave Brat (R-07), Kaine wins 54-36 percent. And in a hypothetical race against Rep. Scott Taylor (R-02), Kaine takes 52 percent to Taylor’s 37 percent.

For Kaine, “40 percent offered a positive opinion and 29 percent had an unfavorable view.” (Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star)
