State Sen. Patrick Colbeck (R) announced Tuesday he won’t abandon his gubernatorial bid to run for Rep. Dave Trott’s (R) open seat. Colbeck said he was “honored by the suggestion that he would be a strong and serious contender” but is committed to his current job. (release)

On the Democratic side, former nominee Anil Kumar (D) said in a tweet that he was considering another run.

Trott announced Monday that he would not seek a third term in Congress. President Trump won the suburban Detroit seat by 4 points.
