State Sen. Daylin Leach (D) announced he will challenge Rep. Pat Meehan (R). A member of the Bernie Sanders wing of the party, Leach supports “a base-$15 minimum wage, a free college option, paid sick and maternity leave and a single-payer health insurance policy.” He joins a number of other candidates, including lawyer Dan Muroff, former teacher Paul Perry, IT consultant Andrew McGinty and medical researcher Molly Sheehan. Leach sought the Democratic nomination for PA-13 in 2014, an open seat, but lost to Rep. Brendan Boyle (D). (Delaware County Times)
