State Sen. Steve Farley (D) “announced Monday he will run for the nomination to challenge” Gov. Doug Ducey (R). “Farley in an email to supporters touted ‘a vision’ of improved education funding and promised to welcome ‘new businesses, new ideas and new solutions.’” (National Journal)

Farley in an introductory video touts his work revitalizing Tucson and worked “across the aisle,” including with former Gov. Jan Brewer (R) “to expand healthcare to nearly half a million people.” (release)

Farley in his kickoff “said he will fight against any cuts in Medicaid.” Farley also attacked Ducey’s support of school vouchers. “Priorities like those, he said, are designed solely to elevate Ducey’s political profile on the national stage.”

Farley: “We need somebody who’s going to govern Arizona for Arizona who doesn’t really have any interest at all in national office.” (Tucson Daily Star)
