State Sen. Patrick Col­beck (R) “filed pa­per­work Wed­nes­day to run for Michigan gov­ernor. … Col­beck … con­firmed he has taken ‘the first form­al steps’ to­wards a run in a Thursday morn­ing email to sup­port­ers.”

Col­beck: “Michigan de­serves prin­cipled solu­tions that pri­or­it­ize the best in­terests of ALL of our cit­izens, not an in­flu­en­tial few.” (De­troit News)

BRING IN THE BAND. Former De­troit health dir­ect­or Ab­dul El-Sayed (D) has hired a raft of seni­or staffers for his bid. Max Glass will be his cam­paign man­ager after run­ning Reps. Lisa Blunt Rochester’s (D-DE) and Seth Moulton’s (D-MA) first suc­cess­ful con­gres­sion­al cam­paigns.

His fin­ance dir­ect­or is Con­nor Far­rell, a former fun­draiser for two-time MI-06 chal­lenger Paul Cle­m­ents (D).

His com­mu­nic­a­tions dir­ect­or is Adam Joseph, a former speech­writer for In­di­an Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment Shashi Thar­oor.
