Sen. Orrin Hatch (R) said Thursday that Mitt Romney is not running for his Senate seat.

Hatch: “I've talked to Mitt Romney. He's not going to run for this seat. I would be glad for him if he would.”

Asked if he’s not running because Hatch is seeking another term, Hatch said, "No. I've chatted with Mitt, and he's not going to run for the Senate." (Politico)

UtahPolicy.com had previously reported that Hatch was leaning toward retiring and that Romney would run in his place.
