Hatch Says Romney Won’t Run for Senate

Hatch’s plans remain unclear.

Sen. Or­rin Hatch (R) said Thursday that Mitt Rom­ney is not run­ning for his Sen­ate seat.

Hatch: “I’ve talked to Mitt Rom­ney. He’s not go­ing to run for this seat. I would be glad for him if he would.”

Asked if he’s not run­ning be­cause Hatch is seek­ing an­oth­er term, Hatch said, “No. I’ve chat­ted with Mitt, and he’s not go­ing to run for the Sen­ate.” (Politico)

Utah­Policy.com had pre­vi­ously re­por­ted that Hatch was lean­ing to­ward re­tir­ing and that Rom­ney would run in his place.
