Rich Ashooh (R), a 2016 NH-01 can­did­ate, is “Pres­id­ent Trump’s nom­in­ee to be as­sist­ant com­merce sec­ret­ary head­ing up ex­port ad­min­is­tra­tion.” In 2016, Ashooh un­suc­cess­fully chal­lenged former Rep. Frank Guinta (R) in the GOP primary. “Since that cam­paign, Ashooh has been dir­ect­or of eco­nom­ic part­ner­ships at” the Uni­versity Sys­tems of New Hamp­shire. (New Hamp­shire Uni­on Lead­er)

Former South Hamp­ton Po­lice Chief Ed­die Ed­wards (R), mean­while, de­clared his bid in April for Rep. Car­ol Shea-Port­er’s (D) seat.
