The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is “actively trying to drum up interest among potential candidates” to challenge Rep. Steve Chabot (R). At the top of the list: Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune (D), Cincinnati Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld (D), who ran against former Gov. Ted Strickland (D) in the 2016 Senate primary, and state Rep. Alicia Reece (D).

“The DCCC sees” Reece “as a well-known name who might be able to fire up African-American voters in the district in a way that other candidates could not.”

“Trump won the district last fall by about seven percentage points — the smallest margin of any of the Republican-held seats in Ohio. Republicans hold 12 of Ohio’s 16 House seats.” (WVXU)
