Roby Gets Primary Challenger

A state representative will run against her in the June 2018 primary.

State Rep. Barry Moore (R) filed pa­pers to primary chal­lenge Rep. Martha Roby (R) in the June 5, 2018 elec­tion. “Moore was first elec­ted to the Alabama House in 2010 as part of the Re­pub­lic­an wave or­ches­trated by former Speak­er of the House Mike Hub­bard. … Moore was ar­res­ted in con­nec­tion with a probe in­to State House cor­rup­tion. A Lee County grand jury later found Moore not guilty on charges of per­jury and giv­ing false state­ments.”

Roby also faced a primary chal­lenge in 2016 from tea party lead­er Becky Ger­rit­son. (
