America Works USA, a nonprofit founded by the Democratic Governors Association in 2011, on Friday ran “an ad touting Gov. Gina Raimondo’s (D) efforts to expand job training and ‘invest in the middle class’ that ended with a pitch to support ‘The College Plan,’ her effort for the state to pay two years of college tuition for in-state students at state colleges.” (Providence Journal)

The RGA said Friday that “Raimondo is taking heat for her ties to a firm that was awarded a lucrative no-bid contract by the Rhode Island State Police,” citing “a new editorial by the Providence Journal.” (release)

An RGA-linked political nonprofit, State Solutions, has also attacked Raimondo’s record on jobs online.

The group is also targeting Govs. Tom Wolf (D) of Pennsylvannia and Kate Brown (D) of Oregon, who are also up for reelection in 2018. (Hotline reporting)
