Amid spec­u­la­tion that Sen. Lamar Al­ex­an­der (R) may re­tire in 2020, “Al­ex­an­der in­sisted he has made no de­cision about his polit­ic­al fu­ture.”

“I’m do­ing all of the things a per­son would nor­mally do to be in a po­s­i­tion” to run again, Al­ex­an­der said. “But I have the lux­ury of not hav­ing to think about that every two years.”

Asked about ru­mors that Peyton Man­ning could suc­ceed him, he said, “Every­body likes Peyton Man­ning, in­clud­ing me.” (Nashville Ten­nessean)
