“State Auditor Jim Zeigler (R) … is openly contemplating a run for Governor in 2018. Zeigler said however that he has not made that decision yet and instead is still trying to gauge the amount of support that he has for a run for the office.

Zeigler: “Whether I will run for governor or re-election as auditor depends partly on the people’s response to the new book.”

“Zeigler has until February 9, 2018 to decide, that being the deadline to file qualifying papers with the state Republican Party.”

He also “has released a new book ‘The Making of the People’s Governor 2018’ … Zeigler has been an outspoken critic of” Gov. Robert Bentley (R) and in the book “chastises other gubernatorial candidates for failing to speak out.” (Alabama Political Reporter)
